buy nothing day is a marketing ploy.. end of story. what happened to taking responsibility for what you believe in on a daily basis instead of waiting for someone to "make it official"? It's stupid, and the people participating are followers that need someone to tell them what to do. If you really want to make a difference use your energy to educate people about WHY they should not support huge corporate entities instead of calling them ignorant for doing what they, and everyone they know has been doing their whole life. Life is a little more complicated than just deciding to "buy nothing" and think that you're taking the high road. bleh
