Teachers send their kids to private school because the private school provide a better education. Why does it provide a better education? One reason is because, often, their ratios are lower, allowing for more attention for each student and more flexibility in the curriculum. Public schools are like a conveyor belt. Kids are administered the education and whether it sticks or not, they get sent down the line.
We are sending our 9 yr old to an independent school because he was bored with the curriculum in public school, but there was no way to get individual attention for his advanced level.
Additionally, schools don't have the budget to supply trained personnel for out of classroom times (recess, lunch, hallways), which means a bunch of low-wage workers hollering at kids rather than assessing and helping solve problems. Kids avoid and fear (and defy) authority rather than understanding their classmates, and their own, behavior and understanding how to solve the problems that come up. So these problems persist, which distract kids from what they're supposed to be doing at school, which is learning.- you're smart to send him there! I don't blame you.********
