I have hugely mixed feelings with respect to the events in the Middle East and northern Africa in recent times.
On the one hand, the thought of dictators ruling with an iron fist for 40 years is just mind boggling.
Equally, I'm worried what type of democracy these countries will be left with once all these dictators are booted out. Most western democracies have had hundreds of years to morph the best form of government, yet most of these newly democratised places will be in a state of chaos for years I would have thought.
