    @ detritus, 10–20 pp. for a small/medium business is not at all unreasonable. A good brand standards manual will have very brief, but thoroughly illustrated information on each page. So it's not like 20 pages of dense copy. It's easier for people to digest than a single sheet.

    Plus, if they have in-house designer(s) or would be likely to work with other outside designers, then it's better to err on the side of exhaustiveness.

    I once did a 70 page brand book for a church. Now THAT was overkill. :)

    • Nobody reads the church brand book, and the four copies I assembled by hand have mysteriously disappeared.gramme
