I just want to say something from a subjective stand point..

These are all great news and Adobe is pushing Flash to whole new heights but don't expect to build everything you imagine just yet.. you will face a lot of performance issues and optimizations, lack of certain APIs and so on..

But with this being said, as a friendly advice, you have about a year to get into this new wave of mobile development with Flash and AIR. It's a great time to start and learn what can and can't be done and keep in sync until Flash/AIR truly blossoms next year.

A lot of tips and tricks, new GPU APIs, the way mobile devices cache things, how OpenGL ES works and how Flash runtime treats bitmaps and objects etc etc.. It's the best time to be at the forefront of this development and try things out.

    Just 2 cents.

    • what's happening next year?Ancillary
    • by next year most of Flash improvments will be implemented. GPU acceleration, 3d low level APIs, Flash CS 5.5, AIR will gain a lot of native device APIs etc. Those are being worked on right now.Boz

    • you mena 12 months away? Unity have been doing this for 2 years, why are Adobe allways so slow!Ancillary
    • Unity is nothing like Flash and what Adobe is doing.. Unity is a 3d engine. What Adobe is building is something much more.Boz
