  The thing that pisses me off most about this kind of post is the fact that even though his post doesn't actually say anything (other than designers have big egos), there are still a load of comments at the foot of the page giving him high fives about how great it is.

  A bigger problem with the design industry (especially on the internet) is sycophancy. Everyone's willing to love everything if it'll give them a bit more exposure / allows them to take turns at giving each other's ego a hand-job under the table.

  I googled his name - he also writes for 'smashing magazine' ... maybe that says it all.
