Years and years ago... must have been in 1993 or so, before Yahoogroups was called Yahoogroups (can't remember what it was before Yahoo bought it though) there was a group called StonerTimes, and they were so mashed on there that they would believe almost anything you told them. If they didn't fully believe it, they would be utterly torn and would need to debate it intensively for weeks afterwards.
I spent months on there conducting experiments. One of the experiments was to convince them all I was actually just an advanced chat bot.
They believed it. The ones who didn't believe it would say "I don't fucking believe you man... who made you, and where are you hosted?" and then they'd spend days and says asking me crazy questions trying to prove or disprove it.
