Absolutely stupid paying that much money for Carroll.
He's done well so far this season with Newcastle but there are much better players available for less.
Before the last few days I'd heard nothing about Liverpool being interested in him, and I guess it's only come about as a post-Torres panic-buy.
I hope it turns out well for them but I'd be annoyed if come summer the new owners say that they don't have funding available because they allowed/encouraged a 'we mean business' bloated valuation of an unproven-but-promising striker.
