tl;dr: Nice idea, with neat interaction — not sure about the layout.
Initial thoughts — I have no idea where to begin, or what your site does. If you hadn't've told me here, I'd be totally ignorant. Even once I've found the top bar rollover, it's still quite a dense proposition.
"Please note: The current supported locations are NYC, London and Amsterdam". My first 'tweet' says 'Edinburgh', I'm guessing the 'tweeter' is based in London?
Functionally, you're only using about 20% of the screen estate. I'm guessing this focuses on mobile, fair enough.. but why so little consideration for desktop users?
I'd trade the small box size for more of the description — as it is, I essentially have to click on *every* entry, just to see what it consists of.
Your proposition assumes quite a lot of technical and cultural (as in social networkery) knowledge. If I was a regular Twitterer, I guess I'd see more clearly what you're doing. If I was a regular twitterer, might I already have other channels for checking stuff out locally?
Privacy Policy / Disclaimer / Contact — all in popups and Dutch?
Your cherry is badly cut out :)
Good luck!
