'Most current estimates of perioperative mortality range from 1 death in 53 anaesthetics to 1 in 5,417 anaesthetics.'
'The incidence of perioperative mortality that is directly attributable to anaesthesia ranges from 1 in 6,795 to 1 in 200,200 anaesthetics.'

A work associate's mate went under last year to have a broken arm fixed and never woke up, was healthy and in his 30's, left behind a family. I get nervous now whenever someone I know is going for an op. I'll never choose to have anaesthetic again unless it's a life of death situation.

    • Only 6,794 in 6,795 to 200,219 in 200,200 painless operations are attributable to anaesthetics.Amicus
    • same thing happened to a mark mate's sister at the dentist's office. She just never woke up.shellie
