    Right on, and I do believe that FTF tried to inspire 'designers' to be active in the evolution of commercial ventures. Ya know, designers who are better functioning as problem solvers than they would be seeing an entire catalog through in less than three versions... phew

    Regarding Beirut... obviously a very respectable author and designer... He said, "It's very empowering to think that you can manipulate the whole world but speaking as a working designer there aren't too many moments in the day when I think that I possess that power."

    Of course not, he works at a big shop. But even with that in mind he doesn't mention what I'd think could be important at places like Pentagram - "We propose a reversal of priorities in favor of more useful, lasting and democratic forms of communication - a mindshift away from product marketing and toward the exploration and production of a new kind of meaning."

    I pretty much assume that regardless of what we are working on, there is some aspect of the work we enjoy.

    The FTF Manifesto is challenging, it's not for everyone. But it seems like it's worded to include everyone...
