Like a couple of posters have already mentioned, I think this can basically be summarised as 'short term' vs. 'long term'.
The problem is, evil can rarely be sustained .. people who are treated badly will eventually become sick of the conditions they're put through, and will either rebel - or in extreme circumstances, kill themselves.
A sustainable solution to almost any problem involves providing people with a set of decent conditions and the power to work with you to move conditions forward in a way that's good for everyone.
I reckon, in all cases - 'good' is practically better. It's not just better in a moralistic sense.
Think about a business, a business that tries to trick its customers will experience massive gains initially. After a while, news of that businesses behaviour will travel and other people will learn how awful that business is. They'll eventually fail.
It's a simple point - but good really is better.
- no the ceo switches job. to be evil and smart is better good then good and smart for profit in biz.********
- But even profit is conditional on happiness. Why would a person be evil if its causes discomfort for profit. Doe she like to be evil********
- he want profit mor ethen happiness. doubt it. so they self delude themselves into being evil and being good.********
- Some people donate. SOme surround themsleves with people who think theyre good, or others that can keep up the illusion********
- illusion. And they hide the fear and hate anyone that shows them otherwise.********
