You need an AMD compatible board for an AMD processor, you need an Intel compatible board for an Intel processor.
And obviously, you need to get a board with the right socket for the processor you intend to get.
- It's easier for AMD though, just make sure you get an AM3 board. There's a whole bunch with Intel at the moment.kalkal
- AMD boards generally last longer because they don't change the type of socket as quickly as Intel.kalkal
- i just got the impression the intel compatible ones were more pricey leading to an over all price increase for intel systems********
