I love them both but you seem to be interested in bang per buck so I'm recommending PC.
I've also had bad experiences with my macs and apple support before (albeit, by an authorised apple retailer rather than an actual apple store.)

- No, unless you need server grade equipment, you can build a better spec PC than a Mac. This has already been said.kalkal
