    I shoot with a t2i and something very similar to this:

    The problem you're going to run into with shooting with a dSLR is the FAT32 formatting of the SD cards will only allow you to write 4GB files at a time (about 12 minutes). Your next option is either dealing with a built in HDD camera that uses the shitty AVCHD codec. Next down from that is HDV Tape cameras like the Canon HV40. Honestly, think about the long term applications of your purchase - are you only doing documentary style stuff? do any of your clips have to be longer than 12 minutes (i.e. are you okay with stopping/starting)?
