Composition wise, I think the new one you've got on the bottom is looking better, the rounded serif typeface you've got however doesn't seem to fit so will with the sharper angles you've used in the symbol, the distance between the symbol and the type also seems rather tight in my opinion. I like the concept. Nice job mate.
