I just did my first interview in three years, and I got the job offer in-house at a Fortune 50.
I think the one thing I did the best was put the screws to them in the "Do you have any questions for us?" phase. I have to imagine that 90% of the time if you get past the phone screen, you are probably in good standing for the position. The best thing you can do is show you are more interested in how you will work with the team than selling your talents.
What is your development process?
How do you handle time tracking?
How many people will I work with?
Who will I report to for projects?
Why is this position open? What happened to the last person?
What opportunities are there for me to advance? The more questions you ask THEM, the more interested you look.
