im a big fan of greetings in passing, but these days in big cities (at least in the UK) its not the norm. Get out to the country side and get shouting "GOOD MORROW TO YOU SIR!!!", they love it!
The worst is when you politely say hi and smile in passing and its clear they think you're gonna stab em up or something :(
- i opened a door for a guy, looked him square in the face and said "good morning", we made eye contact, and he completely ignored mescarabin
