The grades are fine but you really need to see the diamond. Because each diamond is graded by different people you could get a high grade diamond and pay a premium for it when there's another lower grade diamond that's actually nicer. Saw that first hand when I bought in the summer a higher grade diamond had small black dots in it under a microscope and the lower one didn't (it wasn't prefect but when both were steamed cleaned the lower grade one was actually brighter (I thought). I was looking at VS1's and SI1's at the time.
