  Getting paid by approved/ selected t shirt graphic is pretty standard, most big companies work this way. Vans, Burton, FS&S, Etnies, Quicksilver, etc.

  And it's really hard to get royalties, you need to be an approved vendor for a couple of years for this to happen, whit lots of used designs, otherwise they do a couple hundred bucks per design. And they will use that on EVERYTHING, hats, shirts, jackets, etc.
