Sometimes if they installed some camera that is not available anymore but is still listed on the list of cameras (and is the default video input device), Flash picks it and tries to use it regardless. There's no easy way to automatically cycle through available cameras because they report all as being available. This is specially true in Macs, where when you plug a DV camera it becomes the default one but when you plug it off it's not available anymore, but this is not reported to Flash by the system.
Worth a check by right-clicking and changing the camera on the settings anyway."
