So I'm brushing my teeth in the bathroom before bed late last night and look down to notice 2 baby wolf spiders by the sink. Since I hate killing spiders I grab some paper for them to climb on and put them outside. I continue brushing my teeth until my boyfriend comes in and says I think there coming from the ceiling it's then that I look up towards the ceiling and see:
A thousand baby spiders covered the ceiling.
After gagging on my toothpaste my boyfriend says I think they came from her, he then points to 'Big Mama' the largest wolf spider I ever laid eyes upon (and I have seen many) which was over 4 inches wide.
Well normally I don't mind spiders but my skin was crawling and I was having flashbacks of the Arachnophobia film.
There would definitely be no sleeping until 'Big Mama' was caught. After an hour and using a 5 inch wide container she was safely outside.
In the meantime a thousand speedy spiderlings dispersed themselves throughout the bathroom, walls and out to the hallway. It's fascinating and all but when it happens in your home, it's a different story.

We had a problem, we haven't had insect spray in the house for years and it was not going to be possible to catch ALL the spiders by hand and all I could think of was that they would all grow up to be like Big Mama and I would never sleep soundly again.
I feel really bad about it now but after frantically searching google for 'Natural' ways to kill spiders it came down to a spray bottle of watery bleach which later I had to wipe off all the surfaces.
In the panic I think common sense flew out the window because in hindsight I should have just vacuumed them all up. At least only about a hundred escaped... question is now should I share the paranoia with my flatmate who was away last night and who's bedroom is right next to the bathroom?
