Is this a shock to anyone that having your processor render media uses battery life? If I drive my car 5mph the whole time I'd probably get 40mpg. Did they do the same tests with the MacBook Air rendering HTML5 banner ads? I think it's funny that the test case involves flash banners, which are an easy target when you're trying to convince people to drop flash. But reality is that flash is used for a lot of things, not just ads and even if they get their wish to get rid of flash completely there are still going to be annoying, processor hogging advertisements that move and blink.
