Not only is money NOT evil, but most of the advancements throughout human history are ultimately attributable to money itself. Advancement in technology, science, medicine, finance and media have all been accomplished by individuals who seek profit from their endeavors. Now while you might say that profit needn't always exist in the form of monetary gain, profit IS an absolute requirement and necessity for the human race to progress. It's a vital form of incentive, and as we all know, without incentive people will not put forth that extra effort needed for advancement in industry. This is why communism cannot be sustained. If every worker gets paid the same amount of money for any amount of work they perform, none of them will perform anything but the bare minimum required. It would go completely against the grain for human tendency and our self-oriented sense of being.

So... if money isn't suitable as a reward for hard work and ingenuity, then what is? If you come up with that alternative you will at least have a little bit of ground to stand on. Until then money will remain a fundamental, inalienable part of human life. Money is, has always been, and will always be the ultimate motivator.
