    Kinect looks like it's shooting for the stars too early - I can see it working for a lot of games, but anything quick'n'complex'n'multiplayer is going to need a little assistance to keep lag times down - Frenchie dude being interviewed practically says as much whilst staying hopeful about 'the future'.

    Motion sensing without physical aids (as in Wii and PS Move) will happen eventually, but quick games will still need some additional referencing aid for another few years on consumer console devices - there's just not the perfect confluence of cheap processing power and ultrahigh bandwidth yet.

    Slow stuff, on the other hand, might be very interesting with Kinect - it doesn't seem limited by mere spatial representation (as with Wii and PS Move), being additionally able to analyse movements and areas, ie the ability to discern body parts and positions.

    Interesting times.

    Funny to think of video games as actually maybe perhaps becoming quite physically healthy...

    • I guess sooner or later video games will be something akin to the holodeckset
