What the fuck, no sneakers or boots ? Like they think they anything they think are sneakers or boots couldn't be tasteful ? wtf ? They run a glorified pub with music and they're making assertions about design and clothing ?
Get real.
Phone the club during the day and explain to them that you understand they want to preserve a 'taste threshold' and actually, you completely agree, but that of the literally millions of designs of 'boots and sneakers' available, you honestly have the chops to be able to select a pair that will reflect your taste (you are a design professional), and compliment the ethos of the club.
I have honestly not heard of anything as pretentious in about 20 years.
Fucking kids.
