You probably know some designers well enough to go sit with them and watch them do a hypothetical photographer search.... I watched an art director do this once, he had a client he was pitching in mind, so he checked his bookmarks, googled, used some places like altpick, and he had like 10 or 12 photographers websites running in muiltiple tabs all within a couple of minutes..... anything that took too long was nonchalantly closed fast.... a few that looked good were scrolled through fast.... two were bookmarked and URLs copy-pasted into an email to a creative director....
Imagine your new website in this sort of scenario.... competing with a bunch of others... try to ask an art director or designer you know to show you how they search for photographers....
