I would get a new Unibody Mac Book Pro 15". They're portable, practical, and pretty damn quick for anything including 3D work. I would then ask for a bigger screen and a video-out lead so then you're sorted. The screen wouldn't even have to be a Mac cinema screen, just a Formac screen, to keep costs down. Then you've basically got the best of both worlds... a portable lightning quick apple mac, and a big display for home!
