I don't think it's as simple as hey I owe 50k in loans can I get it so I can pay off for school. I am thinking more among the lines of community work, in exchange for some relief. Not everyone is a doctor or a lawyer who's loans can be forgiven because they volunteer in that field. Also in this country you can file for bankrupcy and all your credit card debt will be eliminated, same is not true for your student loans. Sometimes even if your dead someone has to pay for it.
If that's not screwed up system then I don't know what is.
