OK to buy iMac?

    I have a new 27" imac at work. The first run of it got me fairly excited at how quick it booted, but after installing everything(CS and Textmate pretty much) it runs like shit, and takes a good 5 minutes to reboot. My shitty old MB pro with 2gb of ram actually outperforms it.

    Waste of money in my mind. I'd rather have had a new mbp.

    Oh yeah - we got 4. 1 blew up - literally.

    • A new MBP has almost the same hardware as the iMac in question. It shouldn't be slow.monospaced

    • seriously? they've been very very fast to shut down for me. as fast as 5-7 seconds.
