To be fair - he does back it up a bit in the questioning round, and kind of breaks out of character a little to explain the cold facts at the end.
Anyway, isn't it pretty ironic that the only mainstream channels participating in investigative journalism in the US is Comedy Central?
I think his performance actually goes up against the idea that satire is a vehicle for apathy (in the sense we laugh, take the mickey and feel better about doing nothing) .. because it's a pointed attack, and has a specific purpose. It has teeth and interacts with the political machinery.
The only way you can get someone to listen is by interrupting their attention.
