As others have said, it depends.
I like glossy. I have never had an issue with using it, but I also don't use it outside all the time and I don't have it in direct sunlight. And I'm too preoccupied with the dirt/smudges on the monitor compared to my own reflection anyway.
Maybe if you're worried about exact colour matching (with your eyes, I mean, not counting calibration), go with matte? Someone else can confirm this.
