Business cards are a must - there are a tonne of online services that will give you a few thousand for under $100 - I used them before and they're great if you're just starting up.
Also if you're still in early phases I wouldn't waste too much on getting anything else.. letterheads and envelopes and thankyou cards you can do on demand with your home injet. I find most communication is done through email via PDFs Word docs or online invoices, etc. A fax cover sheet is a must but you can print one of those out yourself also.
If you want to do some self promotion consider getting some of that business card sized CDRs (the round ones... the square ones suck) - invest in developing a flash auto-run CD that sells yourself and send it out to all your potential clients. Be selective in who you send them to because if you're going with random mail-outs you will waste lots of money.
