InkJet Signs - dropped off a CV, kept calling them every other day, finally the hired me :)
Imagica - found the job post at my college's career centre, it was one block away, walked over and got the job.
Adex/Russo Group - ad agency - was on the floor above Imagica, and was introduced to them by my manager at Imagica when hours were getting cut...he brought me outside for a smoke, introduced me to some folks at the agency and talked me up in a big way, and got me an interview on the spot, got hired by them the same day.
i-line multimedia - introduced by a friend of a friend, got a contract job for 4 months...
Softtrance Software - new software company had moved into the old office once held by Adex....my friend next door owned a printing company and introduced me to the senior designer...got the job the next day.
JKL advertising. - my old creative director and senior copywriter from Adex started their own agency after the meltdown of Adex...spoke to me on their second company christmas party about coming aboard....
Montage Consulting - old roomate from college got in contact with me and asked if i'd be interested in coming aboard as an art director
montage eventually got sold to AT&T Canada, which then turned itself into Allstream etc...most of us either left or got laid off eventually.
Thinkwrap Solutions.
Head guy at montage started a new consulting agency and promptly hired as many of his top guys from the old montage days as he could get his hands on. me being one of them :)
off and on been working for him for about 10 years now...can't think of a better gig...best boss in the world. totally handsoff, ..only see him about once every 2 weeks or so....lets us get on with the work...and for some crazy reason, this guy has more luck than i've ever seen before...he seems to land us (with our help of course lol) the biggest and most awesome clients and projects....i get to work on projects i never would have dreamed i'd get a chance to touch....so far so good :)Clinch Media
a developer friend of mine here and I have started a small company based primarily on the cast-offs of Thinkwrap :) as thinkwrap has gotten bigger and bigger over the years, the size and scope of the projects has grown considerably...and they just won't take small projects anymore...which is totallly fine with me....but some of our smaller clients from years past have gotten used to working with me and like my design, so now they come to my buddy and me for the work....which has become a nice little sideline....
