twokids,
You can use Flash CS5 to export for iPad with their iphone packager. I was involved with the prerelease and I've built stuff with it so I know it does work.
What you need to do is provision your ipads with certificates so you can install apps on them without going through app store (this will require you to pay Apple $99 for developer license).
You should be able to port your Flash stuff that way. That's for good news.
The bad news is that you can't just port it. There are numerous issues with performance and animations and videos when running on iPhone/iPad. You have to use cacheAsBitmap on your clips and be careful how you use them so they are rendered on iPad or iPhone with hardware acceleration. If you don't do it properly the performance is absolutely awful. Of course, you will need to make all buttons and iPad UI stuff yourself as Flash doesn't have really controls and SDK stuff from Apple. Same goes with touch interaction. You will have to code it yourself.
If you do it right though, it's great. I've built a full interactive application for iphone with tweens and live video and all kinds of goodies and it worked fine and pretty fast but it's not as simple as just export from Flash to iPad and don't worry about it.
