  Not to ruin the thread which has some nice choices, but isn't it a little patronizing to think that foreign film should simply be beautiful?

  It makes me feel as if people are viewing the rest of the world as more tourist destination than real people when they swoon too much over how "beautiful" and "charming" it all is.
