This is Mexico' cash cow. It would be an interesting stat to see how much perishable, non-perishable goods get exported compared to drugs. Of course the people want it because it = freedom. The govermental plutocrats want it to control the people and get rich.
The only way to end the war is to make it legal tax is like alcohol, cigs and instate laws just like we have for alcohol
