what's your budget, and will you have a car?
i was just there this past weekend and took a recommendation to stay at The Avalon and enjoyed it quite a bit ($175/night +$30parking though). It sounds like you'd like to be a bit closer to the action and on the more affordable side of things though. Any of those Hostels you linked to should be interesting.
