big L died just as i was comin up in the urban scene. believe me. its really hard to get next to the real hardcores in the bizness... only a handful of photographers shot Pac, pun and Biggie. many of the playas in this game started by movin weight. when the rap game started and these cats started movin over to the music industry doing publicity and photoshoots, many photogs where scared to be in a session with the real deal street cats. the ones that werent began to create the shots that we still see today.

music imagery, urban imagery has been my lifestyle for over 11 years. im a real deal cat... i know that this is why i've been able to get the call to shoot the people i have... i'm also pleased to say that the game is changin a lot and not as many rappers are getting real comfortable with magazine and tv coverage. [too comfortable].

hence a multitude of shots of ja, and jlo [and all the pop hop]. and less of the undergrounds. and the cats that didnt make it to their true potential, i wish i had met them, shot them, vibed them smoked with them...as for the ones i have, i hope they all keep peace alive and their blood in their bodies.
    one.
