I thought hipster is just a guy in his 20s/ 30s, usually white middle class, who listens to indie rock like Animal Collective or Arcade Fire. Likes Wes Anderson movies, has an appreciation of retro fashion styles and is politically liberal.
I bet that describes 75% of the people in this thread. You're like the gay guy at the gay pride parade shaking their head at the more flamboyant gay guy.
