yep. moved to apache and it's good. the hosting company weer great but in the same convo i got told php scripts won't work, then they will, htaccess files are fine with a rewrite given to zeus, then it might not, the htaccess file may be ignored no matter what e do, then maybe it might not. despair was my world. now it's all good. beer in hand. thx chaps for the usual fuckall, at least i know this place works!
