They're computers.
Years back, when I had a Palm Pilot (and so did everyone else) I had a meeting with a client who used to be on a bomber crew back in the 50's. At one point in the meeting we both pulled out our Palm Pilots to save something and he said "These are amazing little computers.." and I said "Well I wouldn't call them a computer really.." He looked askance at me and said "Well, these things are about a hundred times more powerful than the targetting computers we used on all our bombers for two decades. We called 'em computers and they told us where to put our entire nuclear arsenal. How is this not a computer exactly?" I couldn't really argue, and the implications made me shudder a bit.
So yeah the ipad is a "computer". Deal.
