I did a pitch off it last week. I read my TV scripts off it, then showed a mood reel on it, looked at some favourites i'd bookmarked on youtube, then showed some storyboards on it, then emailed the client the script from it, all whilst sat next to them on a couch taking them through stuff, rather than presenting it at them. I love it.
At home, I get up, read the paper on it, answer email over coffee on it, work out household bills on it, look for a new house on it. I've looked at more photos of mine on it than ever before.
At work I make notes on it.
I bought the doc and these speakers attached via jack into the back of the stand. http://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Audio-…
With spotify and itunes it acts as my stereo, all CD's boxed away and in the loft. I dont have a tv in the bedroom, so it acts as one of those when the baby keeps me up at night and I have to feed him. Iplayer on it is epic. I browse the web on it of course, and when people email me PDF's I review work on it anytime anywhere.
I get GQ magazine on it and for reading its pretty good, although I dont think I could read a book on it, but then I tried Kindle and hated that.
I'm an ECD so I consume media way more though
The Cons:
I now have cramp in my little fingers from holding it with one hand (thumb and little finger front, middle three at the back). I need to find a solution to that.
Its expensive, and 32 gig is miserly
3G is pointless, I only use Wifi.
I carry to much now: 15inch MBP, iphone, blackberry and ipad. I need to figure that one out.
