place the pdf back in Quark or Indesign... or try opening the .pdf in InDesign...
... if you can't open it... place it... draw a little box the color of the back ground over the text you want to edit and then type a new line of copy over the box...
... this only works if you have a one word change... i used to use it when I had to change page numbers for a magazine while on press.
