Ideally I'd like to find sites where there is a decent balance between graphic design and screen design. I do like some iPad magazines but in many ways they are merely "pdf viewers" in the sense that a lot of the interactive elements from the web are missing. They're not really solving any problems in my opinion.

I guess this is the challenge in the process; staying true to the brand whilst creating good (interactive) graphic design for online outputs. It has to look good on a big ass screen as well as an iPad or iPod or whatever.

I'm gathering some research right now, perhaps I can share some more direct ideas later. We did a lot of research for Vogue Italia, which I designed earlier this year (www.vogue.it). Conceptually I'm very happy with it, but when the system is taken over by the editorial team you automatically loose all control of the layout, and all "flaws" to the system become evident. Scary.

The fact that no one can mention an excellent site might be evidence enough that some work has to be done in this field :-)

And don't get me started on advertising....
