  I have one format of password for stuff that deals with money and a quick and easy password for my email and internet accounts.

  I've never had any trouble with this sort of system:

  Gmail account password = g+password
  QBN account password = q+password
  Hotmail account password = h+password

  It's easy to remember and means if one is compromised, there's a bit of effort to get the rest.
