^ Regardless of what they say there (which I agree with, it would be dumb for any major site to drop Flash before those issues are resolved), I don't think there's any question that Google is 100% behind HTML5. Starting with the fact that the author of the HTML5 spec is a Google employee.
The biggest news regarding HTML5 this week BTW was Microsoft's announcement that they has built support for CANVAS into IE9 which they previously were unclear about. If Microsoft had decided not to support CANVAS, it would have definitely kneecapped the HTML5 movement in a major way. As it is, we can hopefully expect all the major browsers to support these capabilities, even if it takes a couple years.
