    lukus_w, when I was a kid my mother used to tell me about how a lot of oncology practices were opening in Southern Utah due to the radiation clouds that blew east from the Nevada Test Site. They call victims of that radiation “downwinders”

    Also, as a kid, I remember eating breakfast we'd get mild earthquakes every so often. My grandmother would exclaim “oh, they just did another test at the test site this morning” ... kind of surreal looking back at that; it was something that just was. Now, I can't believe it really happened.
