  My sister was visiting for 1 month 1/2 and I got her one at target.
  Reception was better than with my iPhone, she had text message, and you only spend whatever you put on the card.

  cons: even though only me and 2 more people had her number, she would get calls from day one from random people, I guess when you throw the phone away, the number stays active even if someone else is using it.
