I think the bigger question isn't how he got the support he did, but what caused so many people to vote farther right than they have before? Is it a larger right wing voting block that refused to get into politics before? Or have that percentage of people there been driven to vote farther right as a result of their cultural identity being pushed farther to the rear in favor of politically correct thinking in their government that favors immigrant cultural identities more than the known western ideologies the country identifies with?
It's not necessarily racism, or hatred - but more a battle of identity and ideology. Many western countries are having issues with this now.
